Lino cutting is a relief printing process. Areas around the image to be printed are cut away with gouges. Ink is rolled onto the lino and the image is pressed onto paper. Further colours can be added by either cutting more of the lino away and reprinting with another colour on top of the initial prints or by making another lino block for the additional colour.
